August Schmid von Schmidsfelden the Elder

August Schmid von Schmidsfelden the Elder (born August 21, 1863 in Kirchberg am Wechsel ; † August 21, 1941 ) was an Austrian industrialist from the Schmid von Schmidsfelden family.

He was the brother of Adolf Schmid von Schmidsfelden .

Technical training at the Polytechnic in Wiener Neustadt , then internship in Germany, 1888 joining the father's company M. Schmid OGH in Wilhelmsburg . From 1906 partner together with his brother Adolf. In 1917 the two brothers jointly built a private hospital for the wounded.

From 1913 he also led the family business in Styria Eisenwerke Styria for a time, from 1906 August was also a partner there. From 1917 to 1918 he was works manager in Zenica .

August Schmid von Schmidsfelden was President of the Styrian Federation of Industries and the Styrian Chamber of Commerce in 1937, and after 1938 provisional director of the Federation of Industries.
