Adolf Schmid von Schmidsfelden (born April 18, 1859 in Kirchberg am Wechsel ; † January 13, 1917 in Lilienfeld ) was an Austrian industrialist from the Schmid von Schmidsfelden family.

Life

Adolf Schmid von Schmidsfelden studied mining engineering at the Montanist Hochschule Leoben from 1878 to 1882 , and then managed the construction of the Stephanie Bridge over the Danube Canal in Vienna , after which he was responsible for the construction of a section of the railway line from Rijeka to Karlovac .

After a year of commercial practice in Istanbul , he and his brother August joined his father's company in Wilhelmsburg in 1888 . Adolf Schmid von Schmidsfelden managed the steelworks in Zenica from 1896 to 1899 , which he had also planned. He was executive board member for life and was in charge of overall management.

During the First World War , he and his brother August Schmid von Schmidsfelden the Elder set up a private hospital.

He was the brother of August Schmid von Schmidsfelden the elder and the son of Moriz Schmid von Schmidsfelden . Adolf Schmid von Schmidsfelden married Ilonka Schmid von Schmidsfelden in 1889, and this marriage resulted in his son August Schmid von Schmidsfelden the Younger.
