August Simon Lindholtz

August Simon Lindholtz (* 1679 in Plön ; † December 28, 1743 in Lübeck ) was a lawyer and mayor of the Hanseatic city of Lübeck.

August Simon Lindholtz was the son of the lawyer from Plön and later mayor of Kiel Otto Nikolaus Lindholtz . From 1696 to 1700 he studied law at the University of Kiel . In 1703 he accompanied Benedikt von Ahlefeldt as court master to study at the University of Halle and in 1706 on its grand tour through France and England. In 1707 he became secretary to the Danish minister Christoph Blome . At the University of Utrecht August Simon Lindholtz was 1715 Dr. jur. received his doctorate and returned to Lübeck, where he initially worked as a lawyer. In 1722 he was elected to the city council. He represented Lübeck as envoy in 1729 in Hanover and in 1734 together with councilor Gotthard Arnold Isselhorst in Schleswig. In 1735 he was appointed one of the mayors of the Hanseatic city in the council. During his term of office the self-completion of the Lübeck Council, forced by the citizens, fell in 1739 .
