August Weinhold

August Weinhold (born July 31, 1892 in Lublinitz , † May 18, 1961 in Werste ) was a German politician of the SPD and a member of the German Bundestag .

August Weinhold was a bricklayer by profession. From 1919 to 1922 he fought for Upper Silesia to remain with Germany. In 1921 he led the German delegation to the League of Nations in Geneva. Until 1933 he was union secretary with the SPD. From 1933 to 1945 he was politically persecuted and later expelled from Upper Silesia.

He was a member of the first German Bundestag from 1949 to 1953 . He was elected for the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD) on the state list of North Rhine-Westphalia .
