August Weirich
August Weirich (born April 15, 1858 in Fugau , Bohemia , † March 2, 1921 in Vienna ) was an Austrian church musician.
August Weirich was already active as a choir director and organist in Fugau. He came to Vienna in 1880 and received church music training from Josef Böhm at the music school of the Ambrosius Association. From 1881 to 1894 he was regent chorus at the Brigittakirche , from 1895 to 1898 at the Dominican Church, from 1898 to 1902 for St. Michael. From 1903 to 1921 he was the cathedral music director of St. Stephan in Vienna . He was a representative of Cecilianism .
