August Wollemann

August Wollemann (born November 3, 1862 , † November 20, 1920 ) was a German teacher, geologist and paleontologist.

Wollemann studied natural sciences in Würzburg , where he received his doctorate in geology in 1887 (to the knowledge of the ore deposits of Badenweiler and its adjacent rocks). Then he was a teacher in Braunschweig . He published geography books and a monograph on the fossils of the chalk from Lüneburg and dealt with fossil mollusks of the chalk (with many first descriptions ). He was a corresponding member of the Prussian Geological State Institute (PGLA).

Wollemann was an active member of the Association for Natural Sciences in Braunschweig.
