Life

Bibra was a member of the "Mainzer Adelsverein", but was not involved in active business until 1847. Only when debts and mismanagement became apparent, and the noble members feared for their reputation and, above all, for their money, did a man well versed in commercial issues finally have to take over the task from 1847 - August Freiherr von Bibra.

In 1851, when Hermann Fürst zu Wied became president of the aristocratic association, Bibra took over the entire management of the now inactive association. For more than 10 years he fought to repay the club's debts and tried to revive the emigration program. But this did not succeed and the entire process was not completed until 1864.
