Bertold von Bibra

Bertold Wilhelm Herrmann Friedrich Karl August Freiherr von Bibra (born June 15, 1804 in Romrod ; † July 17, 1878 in Darmstadt ) was a Hessian forester, politician and former member of the First and Second Chamber of the Estates of the Grand Duchy of Hesse .

family

Bertold Freiherr von Bibra comes from the Thuringian-Franconian noble family of the von Bibra . Bertold von Bibra was the son of the Landjägermeister and Landtag MP Christian Freiherr von Bibra and his wife Luise Charlotte Henriette Freiin Riedesel zu Eisenbach (1781–1855). He was the brother of August von Bibra (1808-1894) .

education and profession

During his studies in 1822 he became a member of the old Gießen fraternity Germania . Bertold von Bibra became district forester in Wahlen in 1830 , forest inspector in Heppenheim in 1845 and forester in Darmstadt in 1849 . In 1862 he was appointed Vice-Colonel- Jägermeister and Chamberlain . In 1863 he became a member of the forest management. In 1870 he retired and was appointed Oberst-Jägermeister.

politics

In the 9th, 15th and 16th electoral periods (1841–1842, and 1856–1862) Bertold von Bibra was a member of the Second Chamber of the Estates of the Grand Duchy of Hesse. In the estates he represented the manorial nobility . From 1873 to 1878 he was an elected member of the First Chamber.
