August von Löw zu Steinfurth

August Johann Ernst Karl Friedrich von Löw zu Steinfurth (born May 11, 1819 in Steinfurth ; † January 14, 1890 in Darmstadt ) was a Hessian landowner and politician and member of the 2nd Chamber of the Estates of the Grand Duchy of Hesse . He comes from the older Löw zu Steinfurth line .

August von Löw zu Steinfurth was the son of the chamberlain and landowner Friedrich Karl August Ernst Johann Löw zu Steinfurth and his wife Sophie, née von Pape. Löw zu Steinfurth, who was Protestant, was a landowner in Steinfurth. In 1840 he was captain and chamberlain.

From 1856 to 1862 and again from 1865 to 1872 he was a member of the Second Chamber of the Estates. He was chosen for the manorial nobility. In the Chamber he took conservative positions.

He married on June 4, 1840 in Schwanheim Adelheid, born von Pape (1820–1901). The couple had several children:

• Erwin (born November 2, 1841; † October 17, 1914), Hessian chamberlain , district administrator and member of the German Reichstag ⚭ 1874 Mathilde Leuthner
• Sophie (born February 26, 1848) ⚭ 1874 Leo von Weiher , Prussian lieutenant general
• Adelheid (born March 24, 1849) ⚭ 1877 Friedrich von Scholl , Colonel General
• Gilbrecht (born October 4, 1851)
