Augustin Bata (born May 22, 1980 ) is a French Taekwondoin . It starts in the weight class up to 87 kilograms.

Bata played his first international title fights relatively late at the age of 25. At the 2005 World Cup in Madrid he was eliminated in the opening fight. In the following years he was particularly successful at World Cup events. In Copenhagen he reached a World Cup round of 16 for the first time at the 2009 World Cup. Bata won his first medal at the 2010 European Championships in Saint Petersburg . He reached the final in the class up to 87 kilograms and won silver after losing to Carlo Molfetta . At the World Cup the following year in Gyeongju he was able to achieve his best ever World Cup result by moving into the quarter-finals, in which he was defeated by Cha Dong-min . Bata repeated winning the silver medal at the 2012 European Championships in Manchester , this time losing to Lutalo Muhammad in the final .

Bata trains at the Institut National du Sport, de l'Expertise et de la Performance in Paris .
