Lutalo Muhammad (born June 3, 1991 in London ) is a British Taekwondoin . It starts in the weight class up to 80 and 87 kilograms.

Career

Muhammad started his sport at the age of three. He was trained initially by his father Wayne, who was also a successful Taekwondo and World Championship participant. Muhammad first took part in international competitions in 2008. He contested his first championships at the Universiade 2011 in Shenzhen , where he reached the round of 16. Muhammad celebrated his greatest sporting success so far at the 2012 European Championships in Manchester . With a superior final victory he secured the European title in the class up to 87 kilograms. In June 2012, Muhammad was surprisingly nominated for the 2012 Olympic Games in London . He was preferred to Aaron Cook . In London he won the bronze medal, with a 9-3 victory over the Armenian Arman Jeremjan . He won the silver medal at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro .
