Augustin Kaluža
Augustin Kaluža (born August 28, 1776 in Kauthen near Hultschin , † December 4, 1836 in Nassiedel near Leobschütz ) was a Silesian high school teacher. He taught from 1806 to 1818 at the Matthias Gymnasium in Breslau and then moved to Nassiedel at Leobschütz as director of the gymnasium .
In addition to his teaching activities, Kaluža was particularly known as a zoologist and botanist . Together with the botanist Heinrich Göppert , he dealt with the Silesian fauna and flora and wrote several articles and essays. Another focus of his research was mineralogy .
