The Rostock District Court is a court of the ordinary jurisdiction of the State of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania in the district of the Rostock Regional Court .

    The judicial district, originally around 990  km 2 in size, was enlarged to around 1340 km 2 through the reform of the judicial structure . About 306,000 people live in it.

    The Rostock District Court was responsible for keeping the land register in its district even before the Bad Doberan District Court was repealed .

    It is also responsible for the entire district of the Rostock Regional Court for agricultural matters , commercial criminal matters , insolvency proceedings and for keeping the trade, cooperative and partnership registers .

    In copyright disputes, the Rostock District Court is locally responsible for the entire district of the Rostock Higher Regional Court and thus for the whole of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.

    In addition, the court was given the management of the shipping register as well as the competence in the dispute procedure for the area of ​​the states of Brandenburg, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt and Thuringia.
