The Ribnitz-Damgarten district court was a court of the ordinary jurisdiction of the state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania in the district of the Stralsund district court . The court was dissolved on February 27, 2017 due to the reform of the court structure .

    In 2014 there were around 61,000 inhabitants in the judicial district, which is around 1,240  km 2 in size.

    When the court was repealed, all cities and municipalities were incorporated into the district of the Stralsund district court. The closure of this court marks the completion of the court structure reform of 2013 .

    Superior courts

    The district court of Rostock was initially superordinate to the Ribnitz-Damgarten district court . In 1994, jurisdiction changed to the Stralsund Regional Court . The competent higher regional court was the higher regional court in Rostock .
