The Stralsund District Court is a court of the ordinary jurisdiction of the State of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania in the district of the Stralsund Regional Court .

    As a result, the judicial district, originally about 989  km 2 in size, was initially enlarged to around 1970 km 2 and finally to 3210 km 2 through the reform of the judicial structure . About 223,000 people live in it.

    The Stralsund District Court is responsible for the entire district of the Stralsund Regional Court for agricultural matters , white-collar crime, insolvency proceedings and the management of trade, cooperative and partnership registers .

    It is also responsible for keeping the mining land register for the districts of all local courts in the state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.

    The courthouse is located on Bielkenhagen Street , next to the Oceanographic Museum in Stralsund's old town. At the listed building at Bielkenhagen 9 , a plaque honors two Stralsund anti-fascists and an unknown Pole.

    Superior courts

    The Stralsund District Court is superordinate to the Stralsund District Court. The competent higher regional court is the higher regional court in Rostock .
