The district court of Güstrow is a court of the ordinary jurisdiction of the state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania in the district of the district court of Rostock .

Seat and District of the Court

The court has its seat in the city of Güstrow .

The judicial district comprised the following cities and municipalities until the judicial structural reform came into force on October 6, 2014.

    Thus the originally about 2,060 was  km 2 large jurisdiction by the court structure reform to approximately 2260 km 2 enlarged. About 109,000 people live in it.

    Building of the land registry

    The courthouse is located at Franz-Parr-Platz 2a and was originally built from 1823 to 1825 as a two-story law office and expanded in 1877. After a fire in 1929, it was rebuilt as a district and regional court in 1931. After several years of renovation work, the move was celebrated with a ceremony in June 2012.

    The land registry is located at Goldberger Straße 12 on the premises of the University of Applied Sciences for Public Administration, Police and Justice .

    The branch located at Plauer Straße 8 was closed in mid-2011.

    Superior courts

    The Rostock Regional Court is superordinate to the Güstrow District Court. The competent higher regional court is the higher regional court in Rostock .
