Aurel Guga (born August 10, 1898 in Temeskubin , Austria-Hungary , † June 6, 1936 in Timișoara , Timiș County ) was a Romanian football player . He took part in the 1924 Olympic Games .

Career

Guga started his career at Vulturii Lugoj and moved to Universitatea Cluj in 1921 . With "U Cluj" he was able to qualify for the final round of the Romanian football championship in 1924 and 1925 , but failed there in the first game. After a brief interlude at Unirea Timișoara , he joined UCAS Petroșani in 1926 , but missed participation in the finals there as in his time from 1927 to 1929 at Jiul Lupeni .

National team

Guga played twelve games for the Romanian national soccer team and scored four goals. He made his debut in Romania's first official international match on June 8, 1922 against Yugoslavia , where he scored the winning goal. In 1924 he was in Romania's squad for the soccer tournament of the Olympic Games in Paris , where he was used in the game against the Netherlands .

Aurel Guga was the captain of the national team in nine games .
