Training Division Bavaria (Wehrmacht)

The Bayern Training Division (also Bavaria Division ) was a German infantry division during World War II .

Division history

The division was set up on March 26, 1945 in the course of the Visigoth movement in the Bavarian military district VII mainly from the 467 replacement division , parts of the 407th replacement division and all other remaining replacement units in Augsburg . The unit came to the front in Franconia against US troops in April 1945 . At the front, the unit was subordinated to the 212th People's Grenadier Division and was taken prisoner by the Americans at the end of the war.

The division's commanding officer was Lieutenant Colonel Curt von Hobe .
