Exhibition Eigenheim und Garten Betriebsgesellschaft mbH

The exhibition Eigenheim und Garten Betriebsgesellschaft mbH is an operator of sales exhibitions for prefabricated houses ; it represents and administers the company group exhibition home and garden (proper spelling also exhibition home & garden ). The company is based in Fellbach, Baden-Württemberg .

The group operates permanent exhibitions of walk-in model houses at three locations in Germany ( Frankfurt am Main , Stuttgart and Munich ) and in Suhr, Switzerland , on which a total of around 200 houses from 79 manufacturers are shown. According to the company, these permanent trade fairs are among the largest model house exhibitions in Europe.

Exhibition Eigenheim und Garten runs the largest German exhibition of its kind in Bad Vilbel near Frankfurt as well as Germany's most popular model home park, the “Bauzentrum Poing” near Munich. This makes the company the market leader in the industry in Germany.

history

On June 12, 1971, the Eigenheim und Garten exhibition in Fellbach near Stuttgart opened the first permanent model house exhibition in Europe with 25 houses at the time (initially under the name "1st European Prefabricated House and Swimming Pool Exhibition Center"). The company's founder was Ottmar Strebel, who also managed Fachschriften-Verlag , a publishing house for construction magazines and prefabricated house catalogs, among other things.

In 1974 a further exhibition park was opened on an area of 77,000 m² in the Oberbarmen district of Wuppertal , in the district of Nachbarebreck; around 60 model houses could be seen here. The site closed at the end of August 2013; The background to this was the fact that the city of Wuppertal did not extend the lease agreement for the site.

The exhibitions in Bad Vilbel near Frankfurt and Poing near Munich opened in 1983 and 1999, respectively.

From 1994 to the end of 2004, the Eigenheim und Garten exhibition in Glesien near Leipzig was the largest East German model house exhibition ; 35 houses were shown here on an area of 30,000 m².

In October 2007 the group opened the “Home Expo” in Suhr, the first prefabricated house exhibition in Switzerland.
