history

The company was founded in 1894 by Hermann Scholz as a repair shop for automobiles in Liegnitz , Lower Silesia . On April 1, 1904, Scholz signed an automobile supply contract with Carl Benz , making it the second oldest Mercedes-Benz partner in the world.

After the Second World War, the company was rebuilt in Bamberg with the support of former employees from Silesia. In 1956 Auto-Scholz took over the business premises in Luisenstrasse from the then Daimler representative. The branches in Forchheim , Höchstadt , Hollfeld and Ebern were opened in 1965 . Since 1992, the establishment of businesses in Jena , Gera , Altenburg , Schmölln and Eisenberg began together with Michael Pickel and Ulrich Weise.

In 2000, the company took over Scheuerecker in Bayreuth , Pegnitz and Bad Berneck as well as Karl Dörnhöfer and Gemeinder in Kulmbach . In 2001 the Porsche Center Bamberg was taken over and built, and in 2003 the Porsche Center Nuremberg-Fürth-Erlangen was taken over. In 2006 the Volkswagen Center Bamberg with three locations in Bamberg was taken over. In the same year, the property was purchased and the Audi service shop in Bamberg, Kronacher Strasse was opened. In 2007 the new building and opening of the Volkswagen Center Bamberg took place.
