Avdella ( Greek Αβδέλλα ( f. Sg. )) Is a village in the municipality of Grevena in the Greek region of Western Macedonia . It forms the municipality of the same name.

The municipality of Avdella is located in the west of the Greek region of West Macedonia on the border with the Epirus region . Adjacent municipal districts are Smixi and Filippei in the north, Theodoros Ziakas in the west and Perivoli in the south .

Administrative division

The rural municipality of Avdella existed from 1918 until the administrative reform in 2010 . Initially referred to as Avdela, it was renamed in 1928. In 1964, Avdella moved from Kozani Prefecture to the newly established Grevena Prefecture . Since the administrative reform in 2010, Avdella has been one of 13 municipal districts in the municipality of Grevena.
