Avdira ( Greek Άβδηρα ( n. Pl. )) Has been a district of the municipality of the same name in the northeastern Greek region of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace since 2011 . It emerged in 2011 from the existing community of the same name and is divided into four local communities.
location
The municipality of Avdira is located in the south of the municipality of the same name on the Aegean Sea . Vistonida borders to the north and Topiros to the west . Lake Vistonida is to the east.
Administrative division
The municipality Avdira was formed in the course of the municipality reform in 1997 from the rural municipalities Avdira, Mandra, Myrodato and Nea Kessani. The merger with three neighboring municipalities to form the new municipality of Avdira was carried out after the administrative reform in 2010 , where it has since formed a municipality and is divided into four local communities.
