The orchid Aveyron-Ragwurz ( Ophrys aveyronensis (JJWood) P. Delforge) is a species of the genus Ragwurzen ( Ophrys ) and thus the family of orchids. It blooms from May to June. It is also classified as a subspecies by some authors: Ophrys sphegodes subsp. aveyronensis J.J.Wood .
features
This herbaceous perennial plant reaches heights of 10 and 40 cm. An inflorescence usually has three to eight flowers , but in individual cases specimens with up to twelve flowers have been found. The upright sepals are pinkish-purple and in rare cases cream-colored. The lateral petals are pink with a more intensely colored orange-red edge, they are broad, wavy, mostly glabrous papilose, rarely finely haired. The slightly convex lip is brown or brown-purple in color. It can be undivided but also weakly three-lobed. But she always has short hair and a small appendage.

Location and distribution
This type of plant prefers loosely scrubby meadows with moderately dry calcareous soils at an altitude of 600 to 700 m . This species is only found in the south of France .
