history

The company's beginnings go back to 1951, i.e. the Korean War . Since then, the group has been renamed several times, it has existed under its current name since 2008 after an experiment with two separate producers AVIC I and AVIC II was crushed.

It is internationally known primarily as a supplier to western aircraft manufacturers and there are significant joint ventures , for example an assembly company for the Airbus A320 in Tianjin .

The parent company and subsidiaries such as Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China (COMAC) and China Aviation Industry General Aircraft (CAIGA) also manufacture their own aircraft, such as the Comac C919 , which is intended to compete with western manufacturers.

In 2011, the company bought the US engine manufacturer Teledyne Continental Motors and Teledyne Mattituck Services from its mother, Teledyne , and CAIGA acquired Cirrus Aircraft in 2011 . The German aircraft engine manufacturer Thielert followed in 2013 . In 2015, Xinfei France, a subsidiary of the group, acquired 100% of the shares in the French refrigerated vehicle manufacturer Lamberet .
