The French company Lamberet SAS , based in Saint-Cyr-sur-Menthon near Bourg-en-Bresse, is one of the largest manufacturers of box bodies for refrigerated commercial vehicles in Europe.

history

In 1965 Paul Lamberet founded the company in Vonnas , France . The first products were mainly refrigerated bodies for smaller vans. The development of a patented sandwich panel in lightweight construction and the subsequent move to Saint-Cyr-sur-Menthon enabled steady growth in the refrigerated box sector. The first semi-trailer in the frozen food sector was presented in 1973.

In 1990, Philippe Lamberet, son of Paul Lamberet, took over the management of the Lamberet Group. To the growth further boost, the distribution was extended to the whole of Europe and established its own sales and workshop offices in Germany, Spain, England and Italy. Over the years numerous partnerships with vehicle manufacturers throughout Europe have also emerged. In 2000, a further production facility was developed through the takeover of the competitor Isomet in Sarreguemines. The incorporation of Isomet GmbH in Saarbrücken in 2001 with its sales operation was a further step in increasing production capacities . With the introduction of the SR01 semi- trailer in 2000, Lamberet was able to maintain its position as the European market leader in the refrigerated vehicle segment for a long time .

For the most recent takeover of the company, the specialist in the refrigerated and deep-freeze truck segment was Kerstner, in which Lamberet took over a majority stake in March 2004 and was thus able to expand the entire product range. The introduction of the Frigoline models (box body for vehicles between 3.5t GVW - 5.5t GVW) in 2005 and SR2 Futura (semi-trailer) in 2006 continued to reflect the innovative pioneering role in the refrigerated vehicle segment. Around 8,200 refrigerated boxes were produced in the 2007 financial year. According to the company, the share of the SR2 semi-trailer was around 2,500 units per year (2007). To mark the company's 40th anniversary, the book "LAMBERET - 40 ans à la conquête du froid" ( ISBN 2-915585-23-7 ) was published, offering a look back at the company's 40-year history in French and English.

Due to the economic crisis, Lamberet had to file for bankruptcy in 2009. On April 7, 2009, the Caravelle investor group took over the activities of the Lamberet Group. The market share for the entire product range in France is approx. 24% (2009). Based on the “SR2 Futura” semi-trailer, the further development “SR2 Evolution” was presented at the IAA in Hanover in 2010. On May 8, 2015, Xinfei France acquired 100 percent of the shares in the refrigerated vehicle manufacturer Lamberet SAS. Xinfei France is the French subsidiary of the state-owned Chinese AVIC group.

The Lamberet Group has 6 production sites worldwide (Saint-Cyr-sur-Menthon, France; Sarreguemines , France; Groß-Rohrheim , Germany; Saint-Eusèbe France; Ho Chi Minh City , Vietnam; and Bangkok, Thailand). Independent sales offices with their own final production can be found in Italy, Spain, Germany and France. Lamberet counts on a network of around 140 contractual partners worldwide.
