Axel Groenemeyer

Axel Groenemeyer (born April 7, 1956 in Oldenburg ; † May 29, 2020 ) was a German sociologist . He taught as a professor at the Technical University of Dortmund .

Life

Groenemeyer studied sociology at the University of Bielefeld , where he graduated in 1981 and 1989 with a thesis on drug use and social policy doctorate was. After working as a research assistant in Bielefeld and postgraduate studies at the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales in Paris and the Center de Recherches Sociologiques sur le Droit et les Institutions Pénales in Guyancourt , he completed his habilitation in Bielefeld . His venia applies to sociology, especially the sociology of social problems and problem intervention.

He then worked as a university lecturer at his home university as a guest lecturer at the University of Saint Petersburg , as chair representatives at the University of Duisburg-Essen , as a guest lecturer at the University of Sofia and Lille University of Science and Technology . From 2004 to 2007 Groenemyer was Professor at the Esslingen University of Applied Sciences and since 2007 he has been Professor of Theory and Empirical Social Pedagogy at TU Dortmund University.

He was chairman of the Society for Interdisciplinary Scientific Criminology (GiwK).
