Axel von Maltzahn (District Administrator, 1808)

Baron Axel Heinrich Ludwig von Maltzahn (born November 8, 1808 in Validz ; † February 12, 1841 ibid) was a German administrative lawyer and district administrator .

Life

Career

Born as the son of Rittmeister Helmuth von Maltzahn and Wilhelmine Maltzahn, née Brockhusen, Axel von Maltzahn attended the Carolinum grammar school (Neustrelitz) . After graduating from high school in Berlin, he studied law and political science at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität from 1827 . In 1828 he became a member of the Corps Borussia Bonn . He studied two semesters at the Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität in Berlin. In 1831 he got a position as auscultator at the royal justice commission in Schwedt / Oder . After the legal traineeship, he went to the Frankfurt / Oder Higher Regional Court. In 1836 he passed the assessor exam . After the death of his father and his older brother Eduard in the same year, he resigned from the judicial service and took over the management of the Gutz and Hermannshöh estates. In 1839 he became the first deputy of the Demmin district , and in 1840 an assistant deputy for the Pomeranian landscape .

Axel von Maltzahn was appointed district administrator for the Demmin district in 1841. A little later, in February of the same year, he died after a brief illness in Validz.

family

Axel von Maltzahn married on November 28, 1838 in Schwerin Auguste von Lützow -Boddin (born February 9, 1820 - May 9, 1891), the eldest daughter of the Mecklenburg-Schwerin State Minister Ludwig von Lützow . The son Helmuth von Maltzahn (1840-1923), later President of the Province of Pomerania and member of the Reichstag , emerged from the marriage.
