Ayaka Kōra (born March 22, 2001 in Nishinomiya ) is a Japanese long jumper .

Athletic career

Ayaka Kōra gained her first international experience at the 2018 Junior Asian Championships in Gifu , where she won the gold medal with a width of 6.44 m. So she qualified for the U20 World Championships in Tampere , where she won the silver medal with 6.37 m. The following year she won the silver medal behind the Chinese Lu Minjia at the Asian Championships in Doha with a jump of 6.16 m . Then she was twelfth in the final at the Summer Universiade in Naples with 6.10 m and was used in the preliminary run in the Japanese 4 x 100 meter relay.

In 2017 and 2018, Kōra became the Japanese long jump champion.
