Aykut Erçetin (born September 14, 1982 in Göppingen ) is a former Turkish soccer goalkeeper .

Career

society

The Turkish born in Baden-Württemberg began his career with the youth of VfB Stuttgart , was also goalkeeper of the U-21 team in Turkey and became vice-European champion with this team.

Before the 2003/04 season, the coach Fatih Terim discovered him and brought him to Galatasaray Istanbul . After the departure of the goalkeeper Faryd Mondragón in 2007, he had the hope of becoming a new goalkeeper, but this looked different after the goalkeeper transfers. Despite having a good base, foreign goalkeepers have always been preferred on the team. He was number 1 at Galatasaray from 2007.

At the end of the 2011/12 season he left the club. Erçetin remained without a club in the first half of the 2012/13 season and signed again with Galatasaray and stayed until the end of the season. For the 2014/15 season Erçetin moved to the first division club Çaykur Rizespor and played one league and nine cup games in the only season. Aykut Erçetin ended his active career in the summer of 2015.

National team

He has been nominated once for the senior national team of Turkey, but has not been used.
