Azerion is a Dutch media, technology and entertainment company based in Amsterdam , which was created through the merger of the AdTech platform Improve Digital with the video game developer OrangeGames and which focuses primarily on the European market . The company acts as the parent company for numerous companies such as Sellbranch, Widespace and Sulake .

In addition to video games , Azerion also offers a variety of technology solutions with the aim of mapping the entire value chain in order to bring publishers , advertisers and users together. To expand its portfolio , Azerion pursues a pronounced acquisition policy .

The company claims to be the largest provider of casual games in the Netherlands and has offices in Amsterdam, Berlin , Brussels , Helsinki , Istanbul , Copenhagen , Lisbon , London , Madrid , Oslo , Paris and Stockholm, among others .

history

In February 2018, Improve Digital and OrangeGames merged to form the Blue Orange Group . However, since this was a preliminary working title, it was finally announced in October 2018 that the name of the company would be Azerion. Before the merger, Improve Digital was a subsidiary of the Swiss telecommunications company Swisscom .

In May 2018 it became public that Azerion (at that time still under the OrangeGames brand) was taking over the majority of the Finnish social entertainment company Sulake from the Finnish telecommunications company Elisa . Sulake is best known for the online virtual community Habbo .

On June 20, 2019, it was announced that Azerion would acquire the mobile games division from the Dutch casual gaming company Spil Games as well as a minority stake.

In July 2019, Azerion acquired the online virtual community Woozworld from a group of Canadian investors .

On October 11, 2019, it was announced that Azerion had taken over the German online marketer HiMedia from the French AdUX, which in the past operated under the name Hi-Media . Azerion previously held an indirect stake in HiMedia Germany through a strategic minority stake in AdUX.

Azerion has been bundling its business activities in the central platform AzerionOne since September 2019 .
