Elisa Oyj , listed in OMX Helsinki 25 , is a telecommunications group from Finland . The company's origins go back to 1882, when it was founded under the name HPY ( Swedish HTF) or Helsingin puhelinyhdistys ( Swedish Helsingfors Telefonförening) until 2000. Elisa Oyj cooperates with Vodafone .

Elisa’s cellular phone division was formerly known as Radiolinja . The world's first GSM call was made using the Radiolinja GSM network in Finland.

In Germany, Elisa was represented by the company Tropolys , which, however , was sold to the financial investor Apax in mid-2004 .
