Azukita (intentional misspelling of the word "Azuquita"; Spanish for "sugar") is a song by US DJ and producer Steve Aoki in collaboration with Puerto Rican musicians Daddy Yankee and Elvis Crespo and the US producer duo Play -N skillz. The song, influenced by Latin pop and big room , was released on February 2, 2018 via Ultra Music and LLC.

The title was both written and composed by Steven Hiroyuki Aoki, Elvis Diaz Crespo, Ramon Luis Ayala Rodriguez (Daddy Yankee), Juan Salinas and Oscar Salinas (Play-N-Skillz). In addition to these, the Chicago-based DJ and producer David Alberto Marcias, who had previously worked with Play-N-Skillz, and Crespo's wife and manager Maribel Vega Laguna also appeared as authors. Play-N-Skillz said in an interview with Billboard that they had been in contact with Aoki for a long time and together they produced the first drafts of a Latin-inspired track. The brothers then approached Yankee and suggested that he start a collaboration. They then contacted Steve Aoki via Facetime and intercepted Crespo. The aim should have been to combine crespos and Yankees vocals with Aoki's EDM elements. The song should be finished within a few hours.
In mid-November 2017, Steve Aoki officially announced the collaboration with Daddy Yankee and the title in an interview with Empo TV. At the same time, he published pictures and clips from the music video shoot on Instagram , during which parts of the song could also be heard.

Content and music
The song is based on a 4/4 time signature and the tempo is 130 bpm . The track is introduced by a catchy kick, which is accompanied by vocal shouts. The names of the artists are alluded to. With a short use on drums, the first verse of the song begins, in which Crespo can be heard. He is accompanied by a piano and a repeating clap. This is followed by a bridge that consists of a kick sounding once per measure and Daddy Yankee's voice. The drop then sounds in the big room pattern. After the drop, the refrain is used for the first time, which Crespo and Yankee take over together. The completion of another run of Bridge and Drop is followed by a rap part by Daddy Yankee. The song received mostly positive reviews. In particular, the merging of the different musical styles of Daddy Yankee's Latin Pop and Steve Aoki's big room sound was praised. Erik Mahal from the online magazine "EDM Sauce" mentioned a similarity to Aoki's 2013 single Boneless , but gave the song a hit potential due to the name.
“The track is energetic and catchy. When the drop sets in, it is reminiscent of “Boneless”. Traditional Hispanic musical elements are highlighted throughout the song. All in all, it's a fun piece that will definitely have some success due to the high profile collaboration. On November 17, 2017, Steve Aoki published pictures and clips from the music video shoot in his Instagram story. It could be seen that he, Play-N-Skillz and Daddy Yankee can be seen in the music video. Together they dance to the song with a number of choreographers.
