River course

The Azure River rises at an altitude of 2100  m from a nameless glacier west of Ojibwa Peak in the south of the Cariboo Mountains . It initially flows 30 km in a south-westerly direction through the mountains and flows into the eastern end of Azure Lake . A major tributary is Braithwaite Creek from the right. Another major tributary is the Angus Horne Creek , which flows into the south shore of Azure Lake. The Azure River leaves the 24 km long Azure Lake at its western end. After only 200 m the Azure River flows into the Clearwater River, 2.7 km above its mouth into Clearwater Lake . The approximately 1180 km² catchment area of the Azure River lies entirely within the Wells Gray Provincial Park .
