Bächli is a village in the political municipality of Hemberg in Toggenburg in the eastern Swiss canton of St. Gallen . Bächli is located in the foothills of the Alps in the Neckertal .
From the Bächli, roads lead to St. Peterzell , Hemberg , Urnäsch and Schönengrund . In public transport, Bächli is served by the St. Peterzell – Hemberg post bus line.
In 1989 the meteorologist Jörg Kachelmann bought an old farmhouse in the Bächli, converted it into a high-tech weather station and founded the private weather service Meteomedia AG . The place became known throughout Switzerland. Meteomedia AG intended to expand its activities and set up a national and European meteo station with numerous new jobs in Bächli. Because this project could not be implemented due to differences with the political community, Meteomedia AG relocated its headquarters to Gais .
