Børns (born January 7, 1992 in Muskegon , Michigan ; real name: Garrett Clark Borns ) is an American musician and songwriter from Michigan.

Beginnings

Børns was born in Muskegon, Michigan. He dealt with art from an early age. So at the age of ten he became involved as a professional magician. He later received a scholarship to the Kendall College of Art and Design (as part of Ferris State University ) in Grand Rapids .

At the beginning of his career, Børns performed under the name Garrett Borns at a TEDx event. In 2013, Børns moved from New York to Los Angeles . Meanwhile he also wrote his first single 10,000 Emerald Pools with musician Jack Kennedy . He released this on November 10, 2014 with his debut EP Candy on Interscope Records .

First album and further successes

Then Børns appeared with his publication in Conan (talk show with Conan O'Brien ) and the French show Le Before du Grand Journal . In July and August 2015 Børns accompanied Charli XCX and the band Bleachers and played at the Lollapalooza Festival.

His first album Dopamine was released on October 16, 2015 , also on Interscope Records. In September 2015, Børns performed at the Iridium Jazz Club in New York, which was also recorded by the American Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) for the Front and Center concert series . The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival followed in 2016 .
