geography

The stream is created by the confluence of some ditches west of Ockenheim. The excellent origin lies directly on the Rheinhessenbahn at an altitude of 103  m above sea level. NHN . From here the run to Haus Grabenborn follows the railway line to the north and then bends to the west. After crossing under the railway lines, the brook crosses Autobahn 60 . The stream then flows in a west-northwest direction until it reaches the cemetery and thus the outskirts of Büdesheim. Here the course turns more to the west and west-south-west directions. To the east of the parish center, the ditch disappears into a canal for about 180 m. The creek flows above ground to the sports field and disappears again into a canal on Saarlandstrasse. After about 730 m the brook reappears in the area of Hichinstraße and after crossing federal highway 9 it flows into the Nahe on the right. The mouth is at a height of 80  m above sea level. NHN . The difference in height between the origin and the mouth is 23 m, which corresponds to a mean bed slope of 6.9 ‰.

The catchment area of the Büdesheimer Graben has a size of 5.91 km², which, apart from a small eastern part, is in the urban area of Bingen. It is drained to the North Sea via the Nahe and Rhine .
