Bürgerwacht was the name of a magazine published in Hanover . It was the organ of the local citizens' associations and appeared from 1927 during the Weimar Republic and during the National Socialist period until 1941. The main collaborator was the nationalist journalist Karl Anlauf , a bitter opponent of the Hanoverian Lord Mayor Robert Leinert .

The civil guard was united with the Hannoversche Bürgerzeitung, the official organ of the Greater Hanover City Association. It was published by Schlüter publishing house with changing secondary titles .
