Karl Anlauf (born April 26, 1877 in Neurode , † September 2, 1951 in Kassel ) was a German journalist . As an advocate of nationalistic cultural policy, he acted in Hanover as a bitter opponent of the local mayor Robert Leinert .

Life

Karl Anlauf appeared in Hanover at the beginning of the 20th century as an editor for culture , from 1903 first at the Hannoversche Kurier . During the time of the German Empire, he published two works on a speech, the so-called Debattenschrift .

During the Weimar Republic , Karl Anlauf was the secretary of the Hanoverian citizens' associations and the main employee of the Bürgerwacht magazine , which appeared from 1927 to 1941. In 1922 he took over the management of the feature pages of the nationalist Niederdeutsche Zeitung .

In addition, he was on the board of the Hanover Theater Community , a member of the city's theater committee and, from July 4, 1924 to mid-1933, an honorary senator in the Hanoverian magistrate .

In the year of the “ seizure of power ” by the National Socialists , Anlauf transferred from the German National People's Party (DNVP) to the NSDAP and temporarily became an archivist in the Wilhelm Busch Museum .

In 1939 his work became The Philosopher von Wiedensahl. The völkisch seer Wilhelm Busch published for the members of the Gutenberg Book Guild .
