The Stuttgart Silver Arrows (English: Silver Arrow = Silver Arrow / Silver Arrow ) are an American football team from the Baden-Württemberg state capital Stuttgart .

history

The AFC Stuttgart Silver Arrows e. V. , a non-profit sports club in Stuttgart with over 250 members, was founded on November 16, 1997 through the merger of the dissolving Stuttgart Bats (formerly Büsnau Bats ) with the Stuttgart Stallions , which had existed since 1980 . Since then, the club has been one of the big names in American football in Baden-Württemberg.

In 2007 and 2018, the Silver Arrows each achieved a perfect season , i.e. a season without a league defeat.

After a few years of varying success, the club last held its own in the 2nd Bundesliga ( GFL2 ).

As in most NFL clubs , players who have earned their money at the Stuttgart Silver Arrows are honored by the fact that their jersey number is no longer awarded after the player is withdrawn from active play. This honor has only been given to two players so far.

Flag Football RegioCup

The Stuttgart Silver Arrows are organizing the Flag Football RegioCup in Stuttgart together with the Stuttgart Sports Region. This was first held in 2016 and has established itself with at least 12 participating teams. It starts in two categories, teams in the age group up to 15 years (U15) and teams in the age group from 16 years (over 15).

Departments

The Stuttgart Silver Arrows offer almost the entire sporting program that belongs to American football . In addition to a men's team, an A youth team (U19), a B youth team (U17) and a C youth team (U15) take part in the game, as well as a flag football youth team and adult team. The entire age range is also covered in cheerleading . Starting with the Peewee Squad (Orange Sweethearts) to the Youth Squad (Orange Pride) to the Ladies Cheer Squad (Great Orange Fire). In addition, the women also provide a dance team (Orange Explosion).
