Gerd Sievers
Gerd Sievers (* 1915 ; † March 19, 1999 ) was a German musicologist and publisher.
Sievers is best known for his Max Reger research and for co-editing the 6th edition of the Köchel directory . With numerous changes compared to the 3rd (- 5th) edition edited by Alfred Einstein , new insights into Mozart's work - the chronology of the creation of the work and the relationship between individual works - have been taken into account.
Sievers was a member of the Board of Trustees of the Max Reger Institute from 1961 until his death . Since 1955 he was married to the music publisher Lieselotte Sievers , the managing partner of the Breitkopf & Härtel publishing house .
