The Bank für Immobilieneigentum AG (abbreviation: BFI Bank AG) was a formerly listed credit institution with headquarters in Dresden and branches in Würzburg and Luxembourg . The main focus of the business activities of BFI Bank AG were housing construction and real estate financing as well as commission pre- financing for sales companies .

The bank was founded on April 4, 1995 a. a. newly founded by Karl-Heinz W. as the only bank in the new federal states . The first speaker of the board was Friedrich Schwab.

In 1996, the BFI Bank received permission from the Federal Banking Supervisory Office to conduct banking business . The branch in Luxembourg was established in 1998.

In 2001, the BFI Bank moved into the lavishly renovated former Villa Felsner in Dresden ( Bautzner Straße 104) , which was specially redesigned for the needs of the company, as its representative company headquarters.

The Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (BaFin) issued a ban on sales and payments and a moratorium on April 7, 2003 due to the threat of over-indebtedness in the balance sheet . The bank's assets are said to amount to 124 million euros and liabilities to 223 million euros. Since then, the bank has been closed to customers. On May 20, 2003, the Federal Financial Supervisory Authority established the claim and the settlement of the claim by the Compensation Institution of German Banks (EdB). The Dresden District Court opened insolvency proceedings against BFI Bank in July 2003 .

The founder of the bank was established in May 2005 because of incitement to breach of trust by the district court Würzburg to imprisonment convicted of five years and nine months.
