The Magdeburger SV 90 (officially: Magdeburger Sportverein 1990 eV ) or MSV 90 for short is a sports club from Magdeburg in Saxony-Anhalt . The association was founded in 1990 as the successor to BSG Motor Mitte Magdeburg.
The club is known among other things for its handball department, which was able to qualify twice for the DHB women's cup . The football department of the club is known as Magdeburger SV 90 Preussen and has not had a first men's team since 2015/16. The first men's team was able to win the Saxony-Anhalt Cup once and thereby participate in the DFB Cup . The Magdeburg Virgin Guards are the American football division of the club, of which the first team played in GFL 2 , formerly known as the 2nd Bundesliga. The team currently plays in the Regionalliga Ost.

Handball
After the women's handball team of BSG Motor Mitte Magdeburg had just missed promotion to the GDR major league in the 1990/91 season, the handball department started in the second division in the 1991/92 season, namely in the northern relay. There you could not build on the good performance from last season and you only finished eighth. As a result, you had to relegate from the 2nd division together with the HSG Humboldt University Berlin and progress Cottbus .
The club was then sorted into the Regionalliga and started in the North season. In the 1992/93 season you could prevent relegation as eighth. After being able to hold onto the class again in the 1993/94 season in ninth place, the team occupied eleventh place in the following season and had to relegate from the regional league together with MTV Tostedt 1879 and HSG Wolfsburg. Since then, the club has only played lower class.
The team qualified for the 2013/14 DHB Women's Cup. In the first round, the team met HSG Bad Wildungen and lost in the home sports hall with 18:40. The team was able to qualify again for the women's DHB Cup in the 2015/16 season. In the 2016/17 season , the team met SG 09 Kirchhof in the first round and were eliminated from the DHB Cup with a 13:41 defeat.
