reception

In 1991, the journalist Richard C. Schneider wrote in Die Zeit : “The wish of the Babylon editors to take part in the political discussion [is] a small step towards being 'taken for granted', if certainly not towards the propagated 'normality'. At the same time, the high standards of this magazine make it clear that it finds itself in an outsider role in two respects, since it is not supported by a consensus of the Jewish community. "

In the taz it was said: "Among the Judaica, 'Babylon' is a remarkable publication and has meanwhile won a steady readership: as an intellectual forum that deals with Jewish topics in essayistic form."

The author Roland H. Wiegenstein commented in the Frankfurter Rundschau : "One of the advantages of Babylon is that the magazine repeatedly addresses the contradictions in Israeli society itself."

Other recipients of the sheet were u. a. Henryk M. Broder (paved beach), Detlev Claussen (hr) and Hermann Kurzke (FAZ).
