Barbara von Reibnitz

Barbara von Reibnitz (born December 19, 1955 in Göttingen ) is a German classical philologist .

Life

Barbara von Reibnitz studied from 1974 to 1981 classical philology and philosophy at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn and at the Eberhard Karls Universität Tübingen . There she received her PhD in Greek Studies in 1990 with a dissertation on Friedrich Nietzsche . 1990–1995 she worked on the Franz Overbeck Werkausgabe in Basel . Since 1994 she has worked at the Jacob Burckhardt edition in Basel. Since 2002 she has also held various teaching positions at the University of Basel . In 2004 she started working on the pilot project “Critical Robert Walser Edition”, which is supervised by the German Department of the University of Basel.

Her research focuses on the history of science in the 19th century, the reception of antiquities and the science of editions .
