Detlev Claussen (* 1948 in Hamburg ) is a German publicist and sociologist .

Life

As a schoolboy, he saw scholars such as Ernst Bloch , Hans Mayer and, in 1964, Theodor W. Adorno at lectures organized by the Bremen cathedral preacher Günter Abramzik for Radio Bremen , and got to know them personally at subsequent meetings.

From 1966 to 1971 Detlev Claussen studied philosophy , sociology , literature and politics in Frankfurt am Main , with Adorno among others. He received his doctorate in 1975 and his habilitation in 1985. He is professor for social theory , cultural and scientific sociology at the Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz University in Hanover . His main areas of work include the investigation of anti-Semitism , xenophobia , nationalism , racism , societies in transition, migration movements and psychoanalysis .
