The red-footed thrush ( Turdus plumbeus ) is a species of bird from the genus of thrushes ( Turdus ) in the family of thrushes (Turdidae).

features

The bird measures 28 cm and weighs 50–82 g. It is predominantly bluish-gray and slightly gray below. The legs, the beak and the dark circles are light orange-red. There is a remarkable variation in plumage between the subspecies.

Occurrence

The red-footed thrush occurs in the Caribbean . It prefers wooded areas.

behavior

The bird feeds on small insects and fruits (especially the royal palm ). The breeding season is between March and November.

Hazardous situation

The red-footed thrush is not considered to be endangered ( Least Concern ).
