The Emmen train station is a train station in the Dutch town of Emmen , which was opened on November 1, 1905.

The station is in the northeast of the center at the end of today's Zwolle – Emmen railway line . The route used to go from Emmen via Stadskanaal and Zuidbroek to Delfzijl . In 1987 the line was electrified .

In 1965 the original station building was demolished and replaced by a new building in the same year. The plan to move the station further towards the city center was not implemented. Since July 4, 2005, there is no longer a ticket office in the station . The station restaurant remained open for the time being. In July 2008 it was replaced by a kiosk .

Express and local trains run from Emmen to Zwolle , operated by Arriva since December 9, 2012 . There is also a bus station at the train station , where city , regional and long-distance bus lines stop.
