The Royal Horse Show is an international horse show that takes place annually in November in the Canadian city ​​of Toronto .

history

The origins of equestrian events in Toronto go back to the 19th century. The tournament

The Royal Horse Show in Toronto is one of the largest and most famous horse shows in Canada. The tournament will be held as a CSI 4 * -W and is one of the world cup tournaments of the North American league in show jumping. In addition to many North American riders, participants from Europe, especially from the United Kingdom, regularly take part. Due to the World Cup rules, they can take the World Cup points achieved here with them into the Western European League.

In addition, international dressage tests are held as part of the tournament, for the first time in 2004. In 2011, these tests are advertised as CDI 3 *. Until 2008, the tournament was the dressage world cup tournament for years and at times also the final tournament of the Canadian North American dressage league .

The tournament lasts about a week, for example in 2009 the tournament lasted ten days.
