Mario Deslauriers (born February 23, 1965 in Venise-en-Québec , Québec ) is a former Canadian , now American show jumper .

In February 2012 he was ranked 44th in the FEI show jumping world rankings. Deslauriers operates a riding facility in Water Mill (New York) on Long Island .

Career

His father is the former show jumper and trainer Roger Deslauriers.

In 1984, at the age of 19, Deslauriers won the World Cup final in Gothenburg as the youngest rider to date , and he was also the first Canadian to win the title. In the same year he started with Aramis at the Olympic Games in Los Angeles . Both in the individual and with the Canadian team he finished fourth. Four years later he started with Box Car Willie at the Olympic Games in Seoul and was fourth in the individual again.

Starting in 2010, Deslauriers joined the United States in sport after having lived in the United States for over two decades. Since summer 2017 he starts again for Canada.
