Today's use of the station building as a residential villa

The Halsdorf station is a former stop of the Wohratalbahn in Central Hesse , which was inaugurated on April 30, 1914. With the cessation of passenger traffic in 1972, the Halsdorf station lost its importance. In 1981 the freight traffic was stopped and in 1982 the line was dismantled. Today, the Hessian long-distance cycle route 6 , which runs from Diemelstadt in North Hesse to Lampertheim in South Hesse, runs right past the former station building.

The type building at Bahnhofstrasse 1, completed in 1914, on the south-western edge of the village based on the design by Alois Holtmeyer , is a cubic plastered building under a hipped roof . The former railway line ran west of the station building. The property has a separate half-timbered toilet house located a little to the north , which is also still standing.

In 1935, the Halsdorf station at route kilometers 11.4 was of particular importance when it was expanded as a branch station for the airfield railway to Bracht . Because of the transport of petrol and bombs in World War II, which took place from Halsdorf in the direction of the Bracht airfield, the Halsdorf train station was also under fire. In January 1945, three bombs were dropped on the station, which caused considerable damage to the building.

Ten years after the cessation of passenger traffic, freight traffic was also discontinued and the former station building was converted into a residential villa, which is now privately owned. The station logo was retained on the west side of the former station, but the rails have given way to the park-like gardens.
